The Book Thing doesn’t want your money. Despite the strongly held belief of many of our regulars and volunteers, books are not a necessity of life. If you want to give money to a nonprofit give it to a homeless shelter, soup kitchen or free clinic.
The Book Thing doesn’t want your money. Despite the strongly held belief of many of our regulars and volunteers, books are not a necessity of life. If you want to give money to a nonprofit give it to a homeless shelter, soup kitchen or free clinic. The Book Thing was founded with the idea that if you have something you don’t need but someone else does, give it to them. It helps them and doesn’t hurt you. If you would like to help The Book Thing of Baltimore, Inc., give us the books you no longer want, hold a book drive, click on the links on our website, spread the word of what we do, and/or volunteer. Check back here for updates on Book Thing activities and observations on the world of books.

My favorite part of Baltimore
I've been going to the Bookthing off and on since I was a teenager. I always tell people about Bookthing like it is the greatest organization ever.
If organizations like this one can exist, I have hope for tomorrow. I hope the Bookthing always exists.
Baltimore wouldn't be the same without ya'll. Thank you for the amazing books and wonderful memories.
I never knew
I've lived in Baltimore for years and I never even knew that the book thing existed. I just found an ad for it on Craisglist. I'm at work right now but I'm already making a list of the books that I'll donate and I'm excited to see what books are there for me to take home with me. I absolutely love to read all kinds of books. I'm really excited. I can't wait to tell my friends.

Thank God for places like this..
How can I get the schools to assist in a book drive?
